Te Puna Hauora ki Uta ki Tai Kaupapa Māori Hauora Hinengaro is a charitable trust governed by a Board of Trustees. The organisation provides a range of community mental health services within the Western Bay of Plenty. The services are located in central Tauranga and include clinical, cultural and social support for whānau. We of Te Puna Hauora Ki Uta Ki Tai are here to give hope to those seeking wellness.
Our Hauora Trust is made up of a dedicated team of experienced and qualified health professionals including registered mental health nurses, social workers, counsellors and whānau therapists. We are able to access health services in the hospital and throughout the community.
As a Kaupapa Māori service, we are sheltered by the cultural values of our tipuna, which are the foundation for our Vision and Mission statements.
When people come into our Kaupapa Māori services, they become as whānau, therefore we are all working together in partnership in a whanaungatanga way.
Utilising the concept of ‘Whanaungatanga’ the bringing together of ones whānau and resources, for the well-being of pakeke, rangatahi and tamariki. This aims to ensure whānau are leading in partnership and inclusion in assessment, treatment and discharge planning.
“Building tomorrow’s leaders today”.
Herengia te herenga tawhito
Herengia te herenga wairua
Ki te whei ao ke te Ao Marama
Hold fast to the things of our tupuna, hold fast to the balances and protection of our spirituality.
They will still hold you today, as in the past.
“Partnering with whānau for health and wellbeing”.
Mahia te mahi ahakoa ko wai
Mahia te mahi ahakoa nga taumahatanga
Engari tiaki i a koe ano
Work for the people, do whatever is required, at all times maintaining your own wellness.
Neke ki Uta, Neke ki Tai, E Kore te ngākau e mimiti.
By the seas ebbs and flows, one shall not run dry, go forward be fulfilled and be proud.
